Here we go! Summer has come to a close and the exciting time of the technology calendar is upon us.
Apple announcement Sept. 10th
OK so we’ve been beaten to death with this rumor, and now we have official confirmation from Apple. Less than one week left to get your apps ready for iOS 7.
Creation of Keynote
The best products are the ones built by people that need them for themselves. Here’s the story of how Apple created Keynote as a presentation tool for Steve Jobs, before releasing it to the public. I particularly liked the part on redundancy.
Microsoft acquires Nokia’s handset unit (infographic)
Right on the heels of Balmer stepping down, we hear that Microsoft bought the Nokia phone brand. This seemed like big news because of the companies involved, but the question remains: will this lead to increased adoption of Windows Phone?
iTunes Festival
Sixty free concerts over the month of September… how can you argue with that? Among them: Lady Gaga, Kings of Leon, Avicii, Chic, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Kendrick Lamar, Ellie Goulding, Robin Thicke, John Legend, and Justin Timberlake.
Adobe Kuler
I can’t stand the way this app is spelled, but it creates one of those magical “wow that’s cool!” effects. It takes a live video feed (or photo, of course) and dynamically create a color palette. Great for freelance designers at a client meeting. Don’t know what colors to make the website? Whip this out and glance around their establishment for inspiration. Free for iPhone.
